Peter Crix is a Senior Consultant in Ellisons’ Private Client team based in the Bury St Edmunds office. He deals with all types of private client work with a particular emphasis on inheritance tax and trusts.
Peter is a solicitor with over 40 years’ experience. Before joining Ellisons, he was a partner in a well known firm of Suffolk based solicitors having served for a number of years as their managing and then senior partner. He acts for a wide range of clients including high net worth individuals, farmers, landowners and business owners. His work includes inheritance tax planning through the use of lifetime gifts and trusts, will drafting and the administration of complex and high value estates.
Peter is a longstanding member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and has frequently been appointed to act as a trustee of family trusts. He has also acted as independent administrator in cases referred by other firms where the parties are in dispute. For clients who have become incapacitated, he has acted as attorney, deputy and litigation friend.
Clients appreciate Peter’s depth of knowledge and experience, but also find him approachable and down to earth. He has the ability to understand complex situations, find solutions to difficult problems and explain in terms that are easily understood.
Peter is member of the Law Society of England and Wales. He is also a member of STEP and the Agricultural Law Association (ALA). He obtained an LLB degree in law from the University of Birmingham and qualified as a solicitor in 1982.
